Time to childproof the bathroom!

Today while changing Parker I thought to myself, "Rylee is awfully quiet...this cannot be good!". So I hurried with Parker and went in search of Rylee. This is where Parker and I found her!

Boone Hall Plantation

We took the kids to the Boone Hall Plantation Pumpkin Patch with our friend Christy and her two kids (McKenna and Evan). We have gotten a lot of rain so we were worried it would be very muddy, but it wasn't bad at all. And luckily, the rest of Charleston must have thought it was muddy too because we pretty much had the place to ourselves! The kids played in the Hay (and ate some too!), got to feed some goats, went on a hay ride, and even picked their own little pumpkins!

First Halloween Party

We took Parker and Rylee to the Charleston Area Mothers of Multiples Halloween Party today. Here are some pictures from their day!

Car ride to the Party!

Daddy getting us dressed in our costumes!

Aren't we cute?!?!

(Notice the banana in Parker's pocket. It is attached to the costume, but Parker kept trying to eat it!)

9 months

Parker and Rylee had their 9 month check-up today. Both babies are doing great and Parker is still 4 pounds heavier than Rylee! Parker is 22 pounds and 29.5 inches (75th percentile for height, weight, and head circumference). Rylee is 18 pounds and 29.5 inches (25th percentile for weight, 75-95th percentile for height, and 75th for head circumference).

Pinehurst Trip

We have just returned from a long weekend in Pinehurst, NC visiting Grampy and Yia Yia! The twins (especially Parker) had a blast playing with Buster. Buster is a very energetic 6 month old puppy that was just as interested in the kids! Daddy got to play some golf, Mommy got a pedicure, and the twins got to go to Sunday brunch at the Members Club with Yia Yia and Grampy!

New House

After a year of living in a small apartment and countless trips carrying two babies up and down three flights of stairs, we have finally moved! We have moved to Wescott Plantation in Summerville, SC. We LOVE our new house. The twins have their own rooms (and sleep so much better now!), we have a big fenced in yard, and best of all we don't have any stairs!!

Parker's Haircut

Daddy and Parker went to Sport Clips for Parker's first haircut. It was hard to keep his head still because he kept trying to look behind him to see the lady cutting his hair! He also thought it was hilarious to look in the mirror. I was worried it was going to be a traumatic experience for the little guy, but he giggled the whole time!

Standing

A couple of days ago we went in Rylee's room after her nap and found her standing for the first time. She pulled herself up in the crib and was waving at us!

The Twins

We cannot believe how much Parker and Rylee have grown in 8 1/2 months. Rylee has 8 teeth, Parker has already had his first haircut, they're eating solid foods and finger foods, they're sleeping through the night and they're crawling everywhere! That is quite a change from the sleepless nights and seemingly endless feedings of only a few months ago.

The twins' mobility definitely keeps us on our toes. Parker is mainly interested in observing and inspecting things, however, Rylee tries to eat anything and everything. Yesterday we had to pluck dog food out of her mouth! We are really enjoying how different the twins are. Parker is very laid back. He is content watching people and observing other children from a distance. He will even play with the same toy for 30 minutes! Rylee, on the other hand, is a little social butterfly. She wants to play with everyone and is not the least bit shy! It seems like Rylee is constantly on the go...it is rare to see her sitting still!

Finally...

A lot of our friends have been trying to get us to start a blog. It has taken a LONG time, but here we are!! For those you who haven't heard from us in a while here is a brief update.

In May 2007 Brian finished his Bachelors in Nuclear Engineering and I finished my Masters in Secondary Education (Chemistry). In August 2007 we moved from Hawaii to South Carolina and Brian is currently going to Grad school full time for his MBA and teaching at Prototype at the Naval Weapons Station (However, he has submitted an officer package so we are anxiously waiting to hear if he was accepted to Officer Candidate School!). The most exciting news is that we welcomed beautiful boy/girl twins in January 2008! The twins are now 8 months old and doing great! They are a TON of work, but we have so much fun with them. It has only been 8 months but we couldn't imagine our lives without them :)
